About Launch Support

Annina is a mental health counsellor and solution-focused coach based in Toronto, Canada. Through her work in the fields of substance use and eating disorders, she came to further specialize in working with parents of highly dependent adult children, also known as kids who have “failed to launch”.

While the phenomenon is common, resources and literature on Failure To Launch syndrome are sparse. And, when they are available, they often have a condescending tone, highlight faults, and cast blame.

Annina doesn’t deny the issues at hand, however, her interest lies in establishing a collaborative stance between parents and child that is rooted in a loving and supportive relationship.

Frequently, parents have tried a number of standard approaches - “tough love”, for example - and local therapists, but for one reason or another, that didn’t feel good and didn’t produce the promised results.

Annina’s approach differs from traditional methods in that her interest does not lie in revealing the root cause of the problem (although sometimes that happens too), but rather in improving your family’s quality of life as quickly as possible.

Our services are designed to solve the issues that are presenting for you right now.

Before training as a mental health counsellor at McMaster University in Hamilton, Canada, Annina completed her M.A. in War Studies at the School of Social Sciences and Public Policy at King’s College in London, UK. She also holds a degree in International Business Management from the University of Applied Sciences in Constance, Germany, and is currently enrolled at the Centre for Training in Psychotherapy in Toronto, Canada.

Annina is a Professional Member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA) and provides coaching services in English, German and Swiss-German.
